The House Band:
The Recap:
The Gist:
Defensively The Wild were very good, holding the Bruins in single digit shot total well into the third period; which is great, but Tuukka Rash turned away everything by Andrew Ebbett's power play goal. So it was the battle of defense; however we had every opportunity to win, since we had something like 30 power plays, including one to end Overtime.
Stream Of Consciousness:
- We played with 11 forwards, after Antti Miettinen left during warmups after feeling pukey. Come to think of it...maybe we should do this more often because the team played really well. Russo said there was something like $17.26 million dollars of Wild Roster injured/not playing last night.
- Andrew Ebbett is a nice little player. He might just work out.
- We went 1 for 875 last night on the power play. Closed Circuit to Kim Johnsson- SHOOT THE GODDAMN PUCK WHEN YOU ARE AT THE POINT. Nifty perimeter passing doesn't score goals.
- Seriously I think Zdeno Chara had 46 minutes of ice time last night. The guy never leaves the ice. It helps your resume when your 6'9", and have a Norris Trophy.
- Think about this- Derek Boogaard was the 3rd tallest player on the ice last night at 6'7". For a guy like Ebbett (who is 5'9") it must have felt like he was playing hockey amongst Redwood trees.
- The biggest Crowd Roars of the Night? Sadly, when Joe Mauer did the honorary faceoff and when Justin Morneau did the "let's play hockey" chant. The atmosphere peaked too early if you asked me.
Next On The Rocket Docket:
Tomorrow afternoon, for the traditional post-Thanksgiving matinee game at 1pm, against the Colorado Avalanche. Then off to Denver to play the Avs at home Saturday Night. What is this, college hockey?
Send me an email and let me know how it goes, I'll be in Mexico.
